What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are sent to and stored on
your computer, smartphone or other device for accessing the internet,
whenever you visit a website. Cookies are useful because they allow a
website to recognise a user's device and preferences as well as
provide us with data on how to improve the site for our users.
Our cookies
Session Cookies: These are temporary files, which
only last for the duration of your browsing session on the website.
Your web browser will normally delete these when you close the
browser.
- JSESSIONID
- Used to identify the session when a user is navigating
around the website, can also be used to track the number of users
that are using the site at any given time.
Persistent Cookies: These files last longer than
the browser session (e.g. if you log into a website and then return
to the website later, the website knows who you are and displays a
welcome message to you). Persistent cookies enable this to happen.
- cb-enabled
- Used to track displaying of the cookie bar, if the user has
not accepted the use of cookies, the cookie banner will be shown.
Managing cookies
